Biography

Dr. Regina Bouchehri is a producer and co-CEO of LOOKSfilm, together with company founder Gunnar Dedio. They share the passion for history – across all formats and genres.

Bouchehri’s focus as a producer is on multi-perspective storytelling and international co-productions, as well as bringing more films by, with, and about women to the screen.

She came to LOOKSfilm in 2013 within the award-winning series 14 – DIARIES OF THE GREAT WAR (ARD/ARTE/BBC et al), awarded with the Robert Geisendörfer Prize, nominated among others for the Japan Prize, the German Television Award, the Franco-German Journalism Prize, the Rocky Awards etc.

As Creative Producer Bouchehri was responsible for international series projects, including CLASH OF FUTURES (ARD/ARTE and many other international partners, awarded with the CIVIS Media Prize, nominated for the Grimme Award, the DFJ Award and the DAfF Award), THE CUBA LIBRE STORY  (Netflix/ZDFinfo) and THE TRUTH ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST (France Television/ZDFinfo).

She took over the co-management in 2020, together with company founder Gunnar Dedio.

Her track record as a producer and Head of Creative Producing includes among others, the historical series A WORLD DIVIDED (coming 2024), the feature film TWO PROSECUTORS by Sergei Loznitsa (coming 2025), the documentary feature THE NATURAL HISTORY OF DESTRUCTION by Sergei Loznitsa (World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2022, nominated for the Lithuanian Film Awards, the Jerusalem Film Festival und awarded by the Chicago Film Festival), the documentary feature MERKEL by Eva Weber (World Premiere at Telluride Film Festival 2022, Europe Premiere at IDFA Amsterdam 2022), the 4-part docu-series AFGHANISTAN. THE WOUNDED LAND (2020, awarded with the Grimme-Award, nominated for the Rocky-Awards, the Realscreen Awards and the Rose d’Or Award) and COLONIA DIGNIDAD (2020, Netflix, WDR/SWR/ARTE, awarded with the DAfF, the Robert Geisendörfer Prize and nominated for the Grimme Award).
