Y-KOLLEKTIV: BACHELOR PARTIES GONE WILD – ESCALATION WITHOUT LIMITS

While the number of marriages in Germany is declining, the business of bachelor and bachelorette parties is booming – and becoming increasingly extreme. Beyond party buses, street vendors, and absurd escapades, a multi-million-euro industry has emerged – with a dark side that often pushes the boundaries of what’s morally acceptable.

In this Y-Kollektiv documentary, reporter Frederik Fleig sets out on a journey into the extremes of a social ritual that oscillates between fun culture and moral free fall. What was once a cheerful night out with friends has evolved into a lucrative business – offering experiences that are sometimes highly questionable.

Frederik, who personally finds little appeal in bachelor party culture, offers a critical yet open-minded look at the scenes, people, and business models behind the spectacle. A documentary about the questionable desire to “go wild one last time” – and what money can buy today when that desire is taken to the extreme.

Y-Kollektiv is ARD’s youth-focused documentary format, known for its transparent, self-critical approach and in-depth reporting. The journalists dive into people’s lives with fresh perspectives – emphasizing thorough research, immersive observation, and encounters on equal terms.
