Als Wladimir Uljanow 1870 in Simbirsk an der Wolga geboren, jahrelang in Verbannung lebend, finanziert von seiner Mutter, ein genussfreudiger Weltenbummler. Doch einmal an der Macht wird er zum besessenen Manipulator, dem das Blutopfer nun selbstverst\u00e4ndlich Mittel wird. Er starb 1924, umgeben von Ger\u00fcchten, der von ihm verachtete Stalin habe ihn vergiftet. 90 Jahre nach Gr\u00fcndung der Sowjetunion und in Vorbereitung zum 90. Todestag Lenins im Jahr 2014 portraitiert Ullrich H. Kasten eine der pr\u00e4gendsten Figuren des 20. Jahrhunderts. Im April 1917 \u2013 der Zar hatte abgedankt &#8211; kehrt Lenin nach Sankt Petersburg zur\u00fcck. In die Zugfahrt von Z\u00fcrich durch Deutschland, Schweden und Finnland nach Russland entwirft der Film Lenins Geschichte.
